EV Charging For Workplaces And Retail Sites

EV charging for staff, visitors and customers, planned around the way your site works. REX installs charge points for workplaces, retail and commercial sites across London and the South East. We look at access, usage and how charging will be paid for before we recommend anything.

Overview

Charging That Fits The Working Day.

Workplace and retail charging has to work around real use: staff parking all day, visitors stopping for an hour, delivery vehicles coming and going. The number of chargers, where they sit and how people pay all follow from that.

We start with your site rather than a standard package. You get a plan and a price based on how your car park is actually used.

Who we work with

For The People Who Run The Site.

Employers

Offer charging to staff as an everyday benefit, with options for paid or free use.

Retail And Commercial Site Operators

Give customers and visitors a reason to stay longer, with payment options that suit the site.

Facilities And Site Managers

We deal with the survey, the electrical work and the installation, and keep disruption to the working day to a minimum.

Landlords

If you own a commercial building, we can talk through charging for your tenants and their visitors.

Planning

Planned Around Your Site.

We survey the site first. That covers the electrical capacity, where chargers can go, cable routes and any groundworks, and load management where the supply needs it.

We also talk through how charging will be used day to day: who charges, when, and whether they pay. That shapes the equipment we recommend.

REX carries out the survey, the electrical work and the installation ourselves.

Payment

Usage And Payment Options.

Charging can be free for staff, billed to drivers, or open to visitors with payment. We set up the access and payment arrangement that suits your site, and explain who owns and maintains the equipment before anything is agreed.

Grants & funding

Help With The Cost.

Workplace Charging Scheme. Eligible workplaces can claim 75% of the cost of buying and installing charge points, up to £500 per socket and up to 40 sockets across their sites. It is open to businesses, charities and public sector organisations. GOV.UK says the scheme is funded until 31 March 2027, though the government can change or end it.

The grant covers parking for your staff and fleet vehicles, not customer-only parking. Charities, public bodies and small accommodation businesses can also open grant-funded chargers to visitors and guests.

The organisation applies for a voucher before work starts and gives it to an OZEV-authorised installer. The installer deducts the grant from the invoice and claims it after the installation. REX is an OZEV-authorised installer.

One scheme has closed. The separate commercial landlord chargepoint grant closed to applications on 31 March 2026.

Funded charging. Some commercial sites may qualify for partner-funded or revenue-share charging. It depends on the site and a partner assessment. Ask us and we will explain what applies to your site.

Recent installations

Recent Car Park Installations.

In Uxbridge, REX installed 14 chargers with full groundworks: trenching to conceal and protect the cabling, and posts on concrete bases. In Southend-on-Sea, we installed 12 chargers across four triple posts, with the cabling concealed beneath the car park.
